About Fatima

Meet Fatima, a 22-year-old student currently pursuing an MA in history at one of Karachi’s most prominent government universities. Over the course of four years, her journey has resembled a rollercoaster ride of emotions.

From convincing guards about her student status to enduring long lines for forms, navigating frustrated office staff, and facing daily teacher taunts, each day presents a new challenge for her. Dealing with crowded spaces, bargaining with rickshaw drivers, and enduring the scorching summers without much shade in the university make it feel like standing in hell. However, amidst these hurdles, there’s a silver lining. This university has instilled in her a sense of independence and resilience. She has learned to handle things on her own and assert herself.

Each day brings new knowledge on various topics like education, politics, and diversity. Interacting with people from different places and sampling diverse cuisines from various canteens enriches her experience. Being a student in a government university is undeniably tough for Fatima, but it also forges strength and self-discovery. It’s not just a challenge; it’s an opportunity for her to grow.
